Houdini 100 FAQs

When and where?

Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Arts Landing, Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Ninth Street in downtown Pittsburgh. The event runs from 7–9 PM, with the escape scheduled for 8:30 PM.

Do I need tickets?

No tickets are required. Houdini 100 is free and open to the public. Viewing spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis at Arts Landing.

When should I arrive?

Arrive early to find your viewing spot and enjoy the evening before the 8:30 PM escape. Plan your trip to downtown Pittsburgh in advance.

Where do I pick up media or VIP credentials?

Media credentials and VIP viewing credentials can be picked up near the stage at Arts Landing on October 31 from 6–8 PM. The stunt starts at 8:30 PM. Don’t be late!

Can I wear a costume?

Yes—costumes are welcome. Celebrate Halloween with us at Arts Landing.

What is the stunt?

Pittsburgh magician and daredevil Lee Terbosic will attempt an upside-down straitjacket escape 100 feet above the city from a Pittsburgh firetruck ladder with a burning lifeline tethered to his feet. He will have only a limited amount of time to free himself. Chapter Two honors Houdini’s 1925 escape and the 100th anniversary of his passing.

What should I expect?

An evening of entertainment followed by a dangerous live stunt performed by trained professionals. View the event timeline.

Can I watch online?

Watch the livestream on Lee Terbosic’s official Facebook page and Instagram account on October 31. The escape is scheduled for 8:30 PM Eastern. Follow both accounts for updates.

What happens if it rains?

This is an outdoor event, and weather may affect the schedule or stunt. There is currently no rain date. Check Houdini100.com and Lee’s official Facebook and Instagram for updates before heading downtown. Any weather-related changes will be announced through these channels.

Can I order a commemorative shirt?

Yes. The Chapter Two shirt is $35 in Small, Medium, Large, XL and Double XL. For event-night pickup, order before October 29 and collect near the stage on October 31 from 6–8 PM. There is no pickup before event night. You can also buy a shirt on site that night with cash or credit card, while supplies last. No shirts will ship before the event. US shipping begins only after October 31, at $7.99 per order. Orders ship within one week after the event; carrier delivery time is additional. Where does event viewing take place?

All event viewing takes place at Arts Landing. Viewing spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive early to find your spot.

Are there bathrooms?

Yes. Bathrooms will be available on site during the event.

Where should I park?

Use downtown parking garages in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District near Arts Landing. Allow extra time to park and walk to the event.
